Side Mount Glass Railing System

Side mount — keeps the full floor width clear

1 product in this system

A side-mount profile bolts to the vertical face of a slab edge, stair stringer or fascia instead of sitting on top of the floor. The glass then rises from outside the floor plate, so none of the walking surface is given up to the balustrade.

What this system asks of the build

It puts the load into the slab edge in bending, so the edge detail and the fixing substrate need to be right. Where the floor area is tight, that trade is usually worth making.

Where it is normally used

Balcony slab edges, mezzanines, stair stringers and any terrace where every centimetre of usable floor counts.

What we stock in this range

The Side Mount System range runs to 1 profile. Between them they cover 12 mm Glass. Supported glass heights are up to 3 feet. Stock lengths are 16 Foot & 12 Foot, and anything outside that is cut to a supplied cut list.

About the Side Mount System Range

A side-mount profile bolts to the vertical face of a slab edge, stair stringer or fascia instead of sitting on top of the floor. The glass then rises from outside the floor plate, so none of the walking surface is given up to the balustrade.

Balcony slab edges, mezzanines, stair stringers and any terrace where every centimetre of usable floor counts.

Across the range we machine for 12 mm Glass. Each product page lists the thickness that profile is cut for.

SS 304 is the standard grade and is correct for interiors and normal sheltered exteriors. Specify SS 316 where the installation is coastal, poolside or otherwise exposed to chlorides — the added molybdenum is what resists the pitting you get in those conditions. Everything in this range can be produced in either grade.

Anodized, powder-coated and wooden finishes, plus mirror and matt polishing. Powder coating is matched to a supplied RAL reference where a project requires it.
