Exporting Stainless Steel Railing Hardware from India

Importing railing hardware turns on things that never matter domestically: grade certification a customs authority will accept, packing that survives a container and a port, agreed incoterms, and finish batch consistency across shipments that may arrive months apart.
India is a major source of stainless steel railing hardware, and Rajkot in particular has the engineering base for it. If you are importing, the questions that matter differ from the ones a local buyer asks.
Grade and documentation
Establish the grade and the certification that comes with it. Mill test certificates matter more on an export order than a domestic one, because they may be needed for customs classification and for the specifier at the far end who cannot inspect the goods first. Packing for a container
Railing hardware is long, relatively slender and finished, which is an awkward combination for sea freight.
- Profiles need support along their length so they do not deflect in transit, and protection at the ends where handling damage happens.
- Finished surfaces should keep their protective film through to installation, not just to the port.
- Brackets, spigots and fittings travel better boxed and itemised than loose, and a packing list per carton saves an argument on arrival.
- Moisture in a container swinging through temperature is a real risk; stainless will not rust but packaging degrades and staining can occur where materials trap water against the metal.

Batch consistency across shipments
A project supplied over several containers can end up with visibly different finishes on the same landing. If shipments are for one project, say so at order stage so the finish can be run as a single batch. For colour work, specify the RAL reference rather than a colour name.

Building requirements differ by country, and the barrier height and load case that apply are the destination's, not India's.
