Stainless Steel and Glass Railing Hardware for Export to Kenya
Manufactured in Rajkot, India · available for export to Kenya
Prince Railing manufactures stainless steel and glass railing hardware that Kenyan importers, contractors and fabricators can import factory-direct: spigots, aluminium base profiles, glass clamps and handrails in SS 304 and SS 316. Everything is made at our own factory in Rajkot, Gujarat, and we can export it by sea to Kenya through Mombasa. We have no office, agent or stock in Kenya; you would buy direct from the manufacturer.
What the parts are called in Kenya
The hardware is the same everywhere; the names are not. This is how local trade terms map to our catalogue.
| Term used in Kenya | In our catalogue |
|---|---|
| Balustrade / handrail / railings | Railing |
| U channel / base channel | Continuous system |
| Spigot | SS spigot |
| Glass clamp / glass holder | Bracket system |
| Handrail / top rail | Top handrail |
All dimensions are metric. Tell us the glass thickness available to you locally and the barrier height.
What you get from the factory
- Made in-house. All seven railing systems are produced at our own works in Rajkot, which is how quality and finish stay consistent across a large order.
- Stated steel grade. SS 304 or SS 316, named on the quotation, with mill test certificates available on request.
- Finishes. Anodized, powder-coated, mirror and matt.
- Made to your specification. Glass thickness, supported height and profile length are manufactured to the project.
- Packed for sea freight. Profiles supported along their length with protected ends, fittings boxed and itemised.
Codes your project will be checked against
Kenya has moved from the old Local Government Adoptive By-Laws to a National Building Code, with approvals through the county governments and the National Construction Authority, and barrier design in practice follows British and Eurocode-derived figures: 900 mm for internal stairs and 1,100 mm for external balconies and roof edges, with BS 6180 line loads. The project engineer confirms the figures for each building.
We manufacture the hardware; whether an installed barrier complies is decided by your engineer or certifier for that structure, glass and fixing. We provide profile dimensions, the steel grade and mill test certificates on request so they can make that call.
Steel grade for the climate
Mombasa, Diani and the coast are hot and humid with sea air, which calls for SS 316 on anything external. Nairobi sits at about 1,800 m with a mild, dry climate, and SS 304 serves most exterior and all interior work there. The reasoning is set out in our SS 304 vs SS 316 guide.
Shipping to Kenya
Export orders ship by sea from the Gujarat coast, where Mundra, Kandla and Pipavav are the container ports nearest the factory. The main destination ports for Kenya are Mombasa. Mombasa handles the country's container imports, with inland clearance for Nairobi through the Embakasi inland container depot on the standard gauge railway. Sailings from western India are direct across the Arabian Sea. Packing, documents and the commercial terms worth settling at quotation stage are covered in our guide to importing railing hardware from India; for this market, also see the guide to choosing a stainless steel railing system.
