Glass Railing (Garde-Corps) Hardware for Export to France
Manufactured in Rajkot, India · available for export to France
Prince Railing manufactures glass railing hardware that French distributors, installers and metalwork fabricators can import factory-direct: aluminium base profiles, glass clamps, spigots and handrails in SS 304 and SS 316. Everything is made at our own factory in Rajkot, Gujarat, and we can export it by sea to France through Le Havre, Marseille-Fos and Dunkirk. We have no office, agent or stock in France; you would buy direct from the manufacturer.
What the parts are called in France
The hardware is the same everywhere; the names are not. This is how local trade terms map to our catalogue.
| Term used in France | In our catalogue |
|---|---|
| Garde-corps / garde-corps en verre | Railing / glass railing |
| Profilé de sol / rail de fixation | Continuous system |
| Pince à verre / fixation ponctuelle | Bracket system |
| Potelet / spigot | SS spigot |
| Main courante | Top handrail |
| Pose en applique (latérale) | Side-mount system |
All dimensions are metric. Tell us the glass build-up, the barrier height and whether the garde-corps is private or public, since the load differs.
What you get from the factory
- Made in-house. All seven railing systems are produced at our own works in Rajkot, which is how quality and finish stay consistent across a large order.
- Stated steel grade. SS 304 or SS 316, named on the quotation, with mill test certificates available on request.
- Finishes. Anodized, powder-coated, mirror and matt.
- Made to your specification. Glass thickness, supported height and profile length are manufactured to the project.
- Packed for sea freight. Profiles supported along their length with protected ends, fittings boxed and itemised.
Codes your project will be checked against
Garde-corps in France are dimensioned to NF P01-012 and loaded to NF P01-013, with glazing work under NF DTU 39. The commonly cited barrier height is 1 m, line loads run from 0.6 kN/m for private dwellings to 1.0 kN/m for public areas, and laminated (feuilleté) glass is generally required where the glass itself is the barrier. Many specifiers also look for an Avis Technique on a glass railing system, so confirm with your bureau de contrôle what the project expects before ordering.
We manufacture the hardware; whether an installed barrier complies is decided by your engineer or certifier for that structure, glass and fixing. We provide profile dimensions, the steel grade and mill test certificates on request so they can make that call.
Steel grade for the climate
The Atlantic coast, Brittany and the Mediterranean from Marseille to the Côte d'Azur all carry salt air, and mountain resorts use de-icing salt; specify SS 316 (1.4401) for any of these. Inland and interior work is well served by SS 304 (1.4301). The reasoning is set out in our SS 304 vs SS 316 guide.
Shipping to France
Export orders ship by sea from the Gujarat coast, where Mundra, Kandla and Pipavav are the container ports nearest the factory. The main destination ports for France are Le Havre, Marseille-Fos and Dunkirk. Le Havre serves Paris and the north; Marseille-Fos is the Mediterranean gateway and is on the direct routes from western India through Suez. Packing, documents and the commercial terms worth settling at quotation stage are covered in our guide to importing railing hardware from India; for this market, also see the frameless vs semi-frameless glass railing guide.
