Stainless Steel and Glass Railing Hardware for Export to Nigeria
Manufactured in Rajkot, India · available for export to Nigeria
Prince Railing manufactures stainless steel and glass railing hardware that Nigerian importers, building-material distributors and fabricators can import factory-direct: spigots, aluminium base profiles, glass clamps and handrails in SS 304 and SS 316. Everything is made at our own factory in Rajkot, Gujarat, and we can export it by sea to Nigeria through Lagos (Apapa and Tin Can Island), Lekki Deep Sea Port and Onne. We have no office, agent or stock in Nigeria; you would buy direct from the manufacturer.
What the parts are called in Nigeria
The hardware is the same everywhere; the names are not. This is how local trade terms map to our catalogue.
| Term used in Nigeria | In our catalogue |
|---|---|
| Handrail / balustrade / railings | Railing |
| U channel / base channel | Continuous system |
| Spigot | SS spigot |
| Glass clamp / glass holder | Bracket system |
| Handrail / top rail | Top handrail |
All dimensions are metric. Tell us the glass thickness you can source locally, since the profile slot has to match it, and the barrier height.
What you get from the factory
- Made in-house. All seven railing systems are produced at our own works in Rajkot, which is how quality and finish stay consistent across a large order.
- Stated steel grade. SS 304 or SS 316, named on the quotation, with mill test certificates available on request.
- Finishes. Anodized, powder-coated, mirror and matt.
- Made to your specification. Glass thickness, supported height and profile length are manufactured to the project.
- Packed for sea freight. Profiles supported along their length with protected ends, fittings boxed and itemised.
Codes your project will be checked against
Building in Nigeria falls under the National Building Code and the state control agencies, such as the Lagos State Building Control Agency, and barrier design in practice follows British standards: BS 6180 for loads, with 900 mm cited for internal stairs and 1,100 mm for external balconies and roof edges, and laminated glass where a frameless balustrade has no handrail. The project engineer sets the figures for each building, so confirm them before glass is ordered.
We manufacture the hardware; whether an installed barrier complies is decided by your engineer or certifier for that structure, glass and fixing. We provide profile dimensions, the steel grade and mill test certificates on request so they can make that call.
Steel grade for the climate
Lagos, Port Harcourt and the whole coastal belt are humid year-round with salt in the air, which calls for SS 316 on anything external; harmattan dust in Abuja and the north settles on everything but is not corrosive, so SS 304 with regular washing serves inland and interior work well. The reasoning is set out in our SS 304 vs SS 316 guide.
Shipping to Nigeria
Export orders ship by sea from the Gujarat coast, where Mundra, Kandla and Pipavav are the container ports nearest the factory. The main destination ports for Nigeria are Lagos (Apapa and Tin Can Island), Lekki Deep Sea Port and Onne. Lagos handles most container imports, with Lekki now taking larger vessels; Onne serves the Niger Delta and the east. Sailings from western India round the Cape or tranship in the Gulf or at Colombo. Packing, documents and the commercial terms worth settling at quotation stage are covered in our guide to importing railing hardware from India; for this market, also see the guide to identifying SS 304 and SS 202.
