Glass Railing (Glasgeländer) Hardware for Export to Germany

Manufactured in Rajkot, India · available for export to Germany

Prince Railing manufactures glass railing hardware that German trade distributors, railing system companies and metal fabricators can import factory-direct: aluminium base profiles, glass clamps, spigots and handrails in SS 304 and SS 316. Everything is made at our own factory in Rajkot, Gujarat, and we can export it by sea to Germany through Hamburg and Bremerhaven. We have no office, agent or stock in Germany; you would buy direct from the manufacturer.

What the parts are called in Germany

The hardware is the same everywhere; the names are not. This is how local trade terms map to our catalogue.

Term used in GermanyIn our catalogue
Geländer / Glasgeländer / Ganzglasgeländer Railing / frameless glass railing
Bodenprofil / Klemmprofil Continuous system
Punkthalter / Glasklemme Bracket system
Spigot (seldom used) SS spigot
Handlauf Top handrail
Stirnseitige Montage Side-mount system

All dimensions are metric and we work to DIN-style tolerances on request. Tell us the glass build-up (for example 2 x 8 mm VSG with a 1.52 mm interlayer) and the line load, since both fix the profile.

What you get from the factory

  • Made in-house. All seven railing systems are produced at our own works in Rajkot, which is how quality and finish stay consistent across a large order.
  • Stated steel grade. SS 304 or SS 316, named on the quotation, with mill test certificates available on request.
  • Finishes. Anodized, powder-coated, mirror and matt.
  • Made to your specification. Glass thickness, supported height and profile length are manufactured to the project.
  • Packed for sea freight. Profiles supported along their length with protected ends, fittings boxed and itemised.

Codes your project will be checked against

Building law in Germany is set by each state's Landesbauordnung, based on the Musterbauordnung, and glass that prevents a fall is designed to DIN 18008-4. The commonly cited barrier heights are 900 mm where the fall is up to 12 m and 1,000 mm above that, with some states differing, and line loads come from DIN EN 1991-1-1 with its national annex: 0.5 kN/m for dwellings and 1.0 kN/m for assembly areas are the usual figures. Laminated safety glass (VSG) is the norm. Many glass railing systems in Germany are used under a general building approval (abZ or aBG) or a project-specific approval (vBG), and that decision belongs to your Prüfingenieur. We do not hold a German abZ, so raise this with your structural engineer first.

We manufacture the hardware; whether an installed barrier complies is decided by your engineer or certifier for that structure, glass and fixing. We provide profile dimensions, the steel grade and mill test certificates on request so they can make that call.

Steel grade for the climate

De-icing salt on steps, terraces and car-park edges every winter is harder on stainless than the weather itself, and the North Sea and Baltic coasts add salt air. Specify SS 316 (1.4401 or 1.4404) for anything external and SS 304 (1.4301) for interior stairs and landings. The reasoning is set out in our SS 304 vs SS 316 guide.

Shipping to Germany

Export orders ship by sea from the Gujarat coast, where Mundra, Kandla and Pipavav are the container ports nearest the factory. The main destination ports for Germany are Hamburg and Bremerhaven. Hamburg and Bremerhaven are the container gateways; freight for the south often lands at Hamburg and moves on by rail, or arrives through Rotterdam or Antwerp and crosses by road. Packing, documents and the commercial terms worth settling at quotation stage are covered in our guide to importing railing hardware from India; for this market, also see the toughened vs laminated glass guide.

Exporting to Germany — FAQs

Yes. Prince Railing manufactures in Rajkot, India and can export to Germany by sea; the main destination ports are Hamburg and Bremerhaven. There is no local office, agent or stock, so you would buy direct from the factory.

Compliance is assessed on the installed barrier, with its glass, fixings and structure, so it is confirmed by your own engineer or certifier. We provide the profile dimensions, the steel grade and mill test certificates on request so they can make that assessment.

The systems and quantities, glass thickness, finished barrier height, steel grade, finish, and the destination port in Germany. A drawing or the specification clause is better than a description.

No. Our hardware is manufactured to stated dimensions and grades with mill test certificates available, and it is used in Germany under a project-specific approval where the structural engineer and Prüfingenieur assess the installed barrier. If your project requires a system with a general approval, say so before quotation.
