Prince Railing manufactures glass railing and balustrade hardware that Saudi project contractors, aluminium and glass fabricators and building-material distributors can import factory-direct: spigots, aluminium base profiles, glass clamps and handrails in SS 304 and SS 316. Everything is made at our own factory in Rajkot, Gujarat, and we can export it by sea to Saudi Arabia through King Abdulaziz Port (Dammam), Jeddah Islamic Port and King Abdullah Port (Rabigh). We have no office, agent or stock in Saudi Arabia; you would buy direct from the manufacturer.

What the parts are called in Saudi Arabia

The hardware is the same everywhere; the names are not. This is how local trade terms map to our catalogue.

All dimensions are metric. Most Saudi projects are specified by a consultant, so the specification clause and the approved shop drawing are the most useful things to send with an enquiry.

What you get from the factory

• Made in-house. All seven railing systems are produced at our own works in Rajkot, which is how quality and finish stay consistent across a large order.
• Stated steel grade. SS 304 or SS 316, named on the quotation, with mill test certificates available on request.
• Finishes. Anodized, powder-coated, mirror and matt.
• Made to your specification. Glass thickness, supported height and profile length are manufactured to the project.
• Packed for sea freight. Profiles supported along their length with protected ends, fittings boxed and itemised.

Codes your project will be checked against

Building work in Saudi Arabia is governed by the Saudi Building Code, which is adapted from the International codes, with permits issued through the municipality and the Balady platform and the design approved by the project consultant. The commonly cited guard height is 1,070 mm (42 inches) for most occupancies, with a 0.73 kN/m line load and a 0.89 kN concentrated load on the top rail, and glass guards are generally expected to be laminated in line with International Building Code practice. The giga-projects and many developers also issue their own specifications, so send the consultant's clause with your enquiry.

We manufacture the hardware; whether an installed barrier complies is decided by your engineer or certifier for that structure, glass and fixing. We provide profile dimensions, the steel grade and mill test certificates on request so they can make that call.

Steel grade for the climate

The Red Sea coast around Jeddah and the Gulf coast around Dammam and Jubail are hot and humid with salt in the air, which calls for SS 316 on anything external. Riyadh and the interior are dry but dusty, with surface temperatures that make thermal movement in long glass runs a real design point; SS 304 is fine indoors there and SS 316 is the safer choice on exposed terraces that are washed down regularly. Shipping to Saudi Arabia

Export orders ship by sea from the Gujarat coast, where Mundra, Kandla and Pipavav are the container ports nearest the factory. The main destination ports for Saudi Arabia are King Abdulaziz Port (Dammam), Jeddah Islamic Port and King Abdullah Port (Rabigh). Dammam on the Gulf is the shorter sailing from Gujarat and serves Riyadh and the Eastern Province by road; Jeddah and King Abdullah Port serve the west and Makkah region.
